Sir John Tenniels's wood engraved illustrations to the Alice books

Hannahs at Seale-Hayne

Prepare to go on a journey down the rabbit hole and into Lewis Carroll’s timeless world, where extraordinary adventures await and nothing is quite what it seems. This summer, Hannahs at Seale-Hayne is thrilled to be hosting Looking in Wonderland, an exhibition featuring Sir John Tenniel’s iconic illustrations from the first editions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (1872).

It’s a world of nonsense and riddles, populated with magical characters loved the world over, like the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, March Hare, Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit.

Expect a touch of Hannahs’ magic too, with a summer of family events including the Wonderland Treasure Hunt, Flamingo Croquet, Mad Hatter’s Tea Parties, print making workshops, art sessions and for the adults - The Malice in Wonderland Murder Mysteries.
