Dame Hannahs Charity Luncheon at the Elfordleigh Hotel raised a wonderful £1528 for the charity. Nearly 100 guests attended the event and enjoyed a delicious two course luncheon followed by a fascinating talk by ‘Agathologist’ Dr Mark Aldridge, who shared his insights into Agatha Christie’s spinster sleuth, Miss Marple. Drawing on research undertaken for his book Agatha Christie’s Marple: Expert on Wickedness, Mark shared the inside story of St Mary Mead’s famous detective. There was also a variety of stalls selling beautiful gifts and a raffle with a lot of great prizes won by the guests.

Dame Hannahs Fundraising Lead, Rachael Koka, said “Our charity luncheon was a wonderful opportunity to bring our community of supporters together to enjoy an afternoon of delicious food in a beautiful setting, whilst supporting the vital work we do here at Dame Hannahs. Huge thanks to our speaker Dr Mark Aldridge for his riveting talk on Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple, as well as our stallholders and volunteers who helped make the event such a success.”
