What are the learning and development opportunities?

Learning and Development is something that we are passionate about at Dame Hannah’s. Providing you have the right people skills and caring values we will provide supportive and formalised training face to face, through e-learning and as part of a buddying system with a more experienced member of staff.

As a new Support Worker within the young adult’s department you will be supported to complete the following programmes of study:-

  • One week Induction training
  • Completion of Care Certificate within the first six months
  • Completion of NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care
  • Ongoing training in topics such as Safeguarding, Epilepsy and First Aid etc.

If you have been employed to work within the Children’s department you will complete an induction programme and a Residential Childcare Level 3 qualification within two years.

All formalised training programmes are paid for by the Trust as we believe in the importance of a skilled and qualified workforce.
