Volunteers serve up treats at Kingsbridge Show

Friday 27 September 2019

Dame Hannahs played an important part at the Kingsbridge Show recently by running the refreshments tent. They served teas and coffees and delicious freshly baked cakes all day and raised £1381.32 for the charity.

Members of the Dame Hannahs Ivybridge Supporter Group had been busy baking cakes which proved very popular with the hundreds of visitors who came to the tent. The team was also selling home-made preserves kindly donated by Marian and Trevor Vanstone and they ran a Name the Cow competition which helped raise funds on the day. Dame Hannahs was also supported at the show by Kettle Co Kitchens who generously donated £150 and ten Kettle mugs as prizes, John and Ann Brooks who kindly donated the marquee, boiler hire and gas and Morrisons Kingsbridge who donated the milk and clotted cream.

Dame Hannahs Head of Fundraising, Daniel Burke, said “We would like to say thank you to everyone who came and supported us at the Refreshments Tent at Kingsbridge Show and to all the people who made generous donations. A special thank you to our wonderful Ivybridge Supporter Group who ran and organised the tent so brilliantly. Without this dedicated group of volunteers, we would not have been able to raise these funds or reach out and raise awareness of our amazing local charity”.
